Noblesville, IN: The Lombardi Trophy (as in the big silver football signifying the Superbowl championship) was brought to the gig last night for the boss to see. It came with a police escort and once it arrived, was swarmed by shaking stagehands and cell phone cameras. It was set up on its own black fabric draped table and was accompanied by a pipe and drape background - an Olan Mills touch, if you wanted your photo with it.
I was more impressed with the Superbowl ring. The Colts' horseshoe logo (which, by the way, if you wear the wrong way, you get YELLED at by a bunch of sports lovin' men: "don't let the luck fall out!"), embedded in a bunch of diamonds and some wording, ala high school grauduation ring. I tried to trade my Avon bling encrusted watch ring with the $5,000 SB ring, but no such luck.
Not being a huge sports fan, specifically *football, I don't really get the hoopla of the silver trophy. However, put some ring bling on my finger and I'll cheer on pretty much anyone.

*DISCLAIMER: despite my lack of interest in football, I will always remain - by birth - a Cornhusker. Go Big Red!
