Volcano, HI: In Hawaiian mythology, Pele, (peh-leh) is the goddess of fire, lightning, dance, volcanoes and violence. Her home is believed to be the fire pit Halema'uma'u at the Earth's most active volcano; but her domain encompasses all volcanic activity on the Big Island of Hawai'i.
