My London Eye

Asheville, NC:   As organized and pretty on-top-of-it as I am in my work life, I have to admit I'm a fairly big procrastinator in my personal life.  More specifically, with photography. I love shooting, I love manipulating in Photoshop and, of course, I love creating Polaroid Image Transfers and Emulsion Lifts.  But once I have photos / projects available, it's hard for me to release them into the world.  I have a feeling that I may not have made enough tweaks to the contrast or saturation of a photo... or that maybe I should have set up the shot differently....  The perfectionist in me is like the gateway drug to the procrastinator in me.

However, on the eve of my next international adventure, I realized I have not posted any photos from any of my previous travels.  To my credit, I had started posting pics to a website that decided to discontinue service.  Once I finished pouting about the fact that I had to take down all the photos I had worked so hard to finally put up, I spent more time looking for another website that would allow me to not only display my photos, but also to tell the story that goes along with them.

I finally found one that suits my needs (for now, at least) and am proud to say that I have completed one album that I am now ready to share with the world... or at least my closest friends in blogland.  It is from my first trip overseas in January 2006.  Though I don't necessarily want to wait two years to post photos after a big trip, it is nice to look back and reflect on the time I spent there... how I truly took a new turn on my personal path and how the world literally opened up for me to explore.

I now invite you to view and experience my first international adventure.... My London Eye.
