Nashville, TN: So she's a little eccentric. And you may cringe a little when you hear her voice. And there's that theory that she may have broken up the Beatles. But I still wanted to take a moment to wish a happy birthday to Yoko Ono, an artist, musician and feminist, who, no matter how you look at it, found true connection with another person. Isn't that what we're all looking for? When I see a picture of she and
John together, I can't help but think of the words of the Barenaked Ladies song,
Be My Yoko Ono:
"I mean if I was John and you were Yoko,
I would gladly give up musical genius.
Just to have you as my very own personal Venus."
But the great part of it all was that he DIDN'T give up music. He began creating it WITH her. I don't believe there's a deeper connection than taking something you love doing it and doing it with someone you love.
Plus, all she is saying is give peace a chance... let's just hope she continues to SAY it and not SING it.
