It's Beginning To Sound A Lot Like Christmas

Nashville, TN: It was late, but the boy and I needed some food. He had been mixing in the studio all day and I had been sitting on the couch behind him. The kick drum and half-screaming / half-singing vocals provided the ambient sound I needed to get my work done. But then we realized it was 10pm and we had GOT to tear ourselves away from our respective work spaces.

So, we head to Kroger to find a quick and easy snack to trick our stomachs into believing it really IS a proper dinner. While deciding that homemade guacamole & a Dos Equis 6 pack would be the best option at this time of night, I heard it start to play over the loudspeakers. That first song, sometime in November (or October, if they're really pushing it), that is the official notice that the holiday season IS indeed here. That song that excites you like a kid on December 24 and stresses you out like a last minute holiday shopper. That song that is the very first Christmas song of the year!

Tonight, on this late night November evening, the holiday season officially began in a grocery store across town, with "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" by the Jackson 5. And away we go!
