Nashville, TN: It's sometimes hard to find a movie that both you and your significant other want to watch together. Specifically, when you are trying to convince him it's not a TOTAL chick flick (I swear! "He's Just Not That Into You" also has some good guy moments too!) and he's pushing hard for anything with ninja or assassins in the title.
Last night, after a cleaning up the kitchen, which still held the aroma of a home cooked meal and leftover laughter, the boy and I curled up on the couch to face the perfectly formed flakes of Tennessee snow... and the decision of what to watch.
He clicked on the trailer for the very first movie that popped up
On Demand, which, in alphabetical order meant that the numerical films would be first. In
2 mins. and 27 mins. I was already hooked. Sure, it was leaning more to the chick flick side, but it didn't look
that cheesy, plus, the narrator said, "this is not a love story. It's a story about love."
And so we watched it and we laughed (ok, I laughed more than he did, but we BOTH did) and I sighed and at times I really felt the main character's pain... and then the boy reminded me to please don't completely compare my life with a fictional movie (which is hard not to do... especially when I was Nancy... if you see the movie, you'll get it).
Bottom line is that if you're looking for a good movie to watch on a cold winter's night with the one you love, see
(500) Days of Summer. And be grateful that you're already in a new season.
