Have You Ever

Nashville, TN: Have you ever had one of those days that start with a fairly clear plan, then end up turning into something totally random and unexpected? Yesterday was like that for me. My usual Wednesday morning routine (while not on the road) begins spending time at the Farm, continues on to lunch and work out of one of my satellite offices, goes into an hour of sculpt and eventually ends up with a late night dinner with the boy.

Wednesday started as usual.... except there were some special guests that joined us for the morning. (Still so flattered and grateful that they shared their time with us!)

Then things went a little different than usual. I needed to take the boy to the DMV to get a little license situation straightened out. We first went to the DMV downtown (which, by the way, is a bitch to find any street parking), only to discover they closed 20 minutes after we got there. So we headed to another DMV and waited 45 minutes to complete the 5 minutes process. This probably doesn't seem like a big deal, but take all of these activities and add on driving in 4pm Nashville traffic makes it a whole lot worse. (However, I did get to have lunch with the boy, which was a super treat and felt like a true day date.)

Because of the blasted traffic mentioned above, I missed the slot for my class so decided to try the Wednesday night run in my hood. This was the first time I had heard of it and I couldn't believe how many people were actually there! Though it was a tough run (first time and hills... and I'm a wuss), I have a feeling I'll be back....

On the walk home post-run, I returned a missed call from a fun and lovely friend who was working at the Ryman. She had 2 tickets left for a show that was starting in an hour. Could I make it? Could I find someone that could join me on a moment's notice? Turns out my sweet friend (and book club founder), Jill, was just the girl who was not only available but a HUGE fan of the artists playing. Somehow, at the end of the evening, we ended up meeting one of them and getting a photo together. Perfect for my Facebook wall.

Just another Wednesday, I suppose....
