365 Project

Omaha, NE: Not that I'm establishing any sort of New Year's resolutions (God forbid I set myself up for failure so soon in the year), I do have a few projects I'd like to start, with enfocar, of course. One is to take (and post) one picture per day for the whole year. I have a camera phone, a point & shoot and a fancy cam. I play a photographer in some roles. I have a computer and a blog and know how to use them (for the most part). Why shouldn't I? It's only 365 pictures, right?

That's actually the problem. Three HUNDRED and sixty five pictures is a lot. Having to remember to do something each day is also going to be a challenge. But, I lead a fairly interesting life and see a lot of pretty amazing things. No reason I shouldn't at least try, right?

I signed up on the official 365 Project website and they have a lovely little feature that shows you your photos in a calendar view. Sadly, however, you can't a widget on Blogger with either the calendar view or thumbnails of your most recent photos through that website. Flickr, on the other hand, offers that option, so I decided to not only post to the 365 Project site, but also to my Flickr account so that I can have that widget on my blog page. Seems like a lot of work already, but I've already given myself a 7 day grace period to post pics, in case I can't get to it each day.

You can pick themes and join groups and I'm sure a lot of other fancy tricks that I will learn along the way, but for now, at least, I'm happy to have a fun (until it becomes just another thing to do) little project that may even better my photography skills. I'll check in a bit from time to time to note my progress. Until then, enjoy my first two pictures of the new year!
