But before I had a chance to pout too much, I got a note from the boss, asking if anyone was interested in going the next day. Well, if it's a work-thing, then I definitely will have to go! Knowing we couldn't just show up at the front door of the open-to-the-public location, I searched my Mail program for the words "hall of fame." Sorting through thousands of emails since July 4, 2007 (the fateful day of the computer crash), up popped a handful from Shelby Morrison, Exhibitions Assistant & Coordinator of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame & Museum. Bingo!

Last time I was there (back in 2007), Shelby was our tour guide when my former boss took a few of us to see the latest exhibits at the Hall. We also got a private tour of the Vault, where items first live after they are received and before they are presented to the public. Some of these items are truly remarkable and my favorite one from that time was John Lennon's last passport.

I emailed Shelby again, hoping she was still there and actually remembered me. In the morning, I checked my inbox on my iPhone and there was a response from Shelby. She did, indeed, still work there, remembered me and was more than happy to set up a last minute tour. Our group leader was none other than the President & CEO of the Hall, Terry Stewart, who is a wealth of knowledge. We started in the Vault once again and this time got to see John Lennon's first passport. Awesome.

And, even more importantly than seeing some of the items that make up rock & roll's huge history, I reconnected with Shelby and look forward to continuing a great friendship with her!
