On a train from London to Liverpool, United Kingdom: My last show was 2 weeks ago and I don’t have another one for another 2, but today is the perfect day to talk about the 5th of 100 little pleasures of (touring) life:
#5: Having time off in between shows to travel for fun.
It seems fairly strange that one of the first things I think about doing once I’m finally off of the road for a bit is figuring out where I can go to next. But there’s something very exciting about knowing that when I get an extended break, I can go someplace for vacation. I love traveling with my job – especially because the main expenses (airfare, hotels, ground transportation) are being covered. But most of the time, I rarely get real experience a city because I’m, well, working (which got me there in the first place & which I actually enjoy... so no complaints, just stating the facts!).
After settling back into home life a bit once off the road, I research the places I can actually take the time to see myself (and not just from the inside of an arena!). Like for instance...
Abbey Road Studios in London with my Mom.
Just another gigantic little pleasure of touring life.
