Grazie, Italia

Nashville, TN: One of the most beautiful aspects to my procrastinating imperfect perfectionist tendencies is that in the time I wait to finish a project, new tools are invented to make the said project even more lovely... when I finally get around to finishing it.

Five years ago this summer (FIVE YEARS!), I went on a trip with a touring friend who was in need to get out of his normal routine & headspace almost as bad as I was. Since we knew we already traveled well together on a bus, we decided to expand our horizons further and crossed the waters over to Italy. Both armed with cameras in hand, we explored Rome, Venice and Vatican City and tried to capture as much beauty as our SD cards could possibly hold.

We also ate a LOT of pasta and drank a LOT of wine.

When I returned, I had big dreams of photoshopping my pics for the perfect Italian photo album, but I immediately started a new job and time slipped away from me... and suddenly, it's 2011. However, the waiting paid off a bit since during that in between time, Eat, Pray, Love was released (which gave such beautiful written descriptions of places I had traveled to) and Lightroom released a layers program (which allows me to take a semi-interesting photograph and bring it to life!). With both gifts in mind and hand, I finally put the finishing touches on my photographic memories of my trip from so many years ago.

And I invite you now to see the fruits of my Italian labors... to Capture this Moment, 2006.
