Paid Vacation

St. John's, NL  Canada:  My job duties on the road are pretty consistent, including: book travel, put together ticket/passes envelopes, make sure all 9 band members are accounted for at all times (which gives me a new appreciation of being a parent... and a reminder of why I'm not).

But sometimes the call of duty requires me to get a little more involved.  I mean, if the boss needs someone to set up & go on guided sightseeing tours of cities we've never been to and eat meals at the city's finest hidden restaurants, who am I to say no?  Its my job, after all!  I am grateful for these more-or-less paid vacation days I am able take (though also burning the midnight oil to catch up on the work I'm not doing since I'm out galavanting in new-found-lands!).

Here are some pics from my latest (working) adventures in the great north:

Niagara Falls, Ontario

The falls up close & personal again.
Smart thinking this time: water shoes.

A few more of us don the blue rain slickers.
That was us on that little boat!  (ok, not really us, but we did ride that boat.)

Panoramic view from my room.  I finally made it over to the other side!

Halifax, Ontario

Halifax was the closest city with a train port to the Titanic tragedy, where families of the deceased could look for their loved ones.  Here, a small replica of the Titanic floats in a pond, with a (seemingly oversized) bird on it.

From here, you can get to Paris, Dublin, London & the Titanic.

I made it!
