I'm Big In Poland

.
Nashville, TN:  Well, not THAT big, but I did make it on a Polish blog. Written by Jakub, from the Professional Genealogy and Heritage Tours in Poland website, may I present: Tracing Ziemba ad Świątek families in central Galicia.

Also, I finished Lightroom-ing all of my Poland photos and have put them on my website, under the album Dzień Dobry (translation: good day).

But most importantly, I put the best pics together in a book, made especially for Grandma Snell, which arrived just the other day.

She's the real reason I went there -- it was her family that came from Poland and, at 91, she's probably not going to make it there herself. I figured it would be the least I could do while in Europe anyway: go back to the place she (and I) came from and show her what that actually looks like.

Though I like to take landscape & city shots, my co-traveler, Catherine, reminded me that Grandma wants to see pictures of ME, not of the buildings. So I included as many of pictures of me as I could... along with buildings and food and Polish words.

I shipped it to myself first so I could take a look at it before it's final destination. Ironically, I ran into Catherine at Fido that same day, so I could show here the final product.

My favorite part of the book is the back cover, where I could write a personal note to G-ma. She is the inspiration to my determination, my sense of adventure and my strong will. I am so grateful for her unconditional love (I just know I'm her favorite!) and I hope this book conveys at least a little bit of my gratitude to her.
