Windsor, Ontario Canada: It's important to be prepared, especially when entering another country. You must have passports out & ready, any sort of paperwork (which as been compiled weeks in advance) in hand and complete knowledge of where you are going, what you are doing there and when you'll be getting the hell out.
Then, as you inch closer towards the lanes that lead into the country you desire enter (and by 'desire' I mean 'need to play in'), you must be on your best behavior. Music in the bus front lounge turned down, 'yes sir's' and 'no ma'am's' ready to fire off as a quick reply and an emergency autographed 8x10 in the jump seat... just in case.
There's an exhilarating moment that happens as I walk into the border patrol office, still in bus jammies and flip flops, armed with my alphabetized passport booklets stacked in a neat pile. Will it be hours of grueling questions about our purpose in this country? What happens if they deny our entry? Impressed by my mad organizational skillz (or perhaps it's my sweet smile & bit of flirty humor), the immigrations officer scans the passports and records of our entire criminal histories and waves us on.
#33: Easy Border Crossings
Here's hoping the trip back into the good ol' USofA later that same night is just as easy.
